With this service we provide the container and transport, various containers are available 20gp and 40gp containers they hold 33m3 and 66m3 respectively. 20gp is normally enough for a three bedroom home and your shed contents, kids bikes etc, the 40gp will hold a five bedroom home and all your outside gear as well as the sheds, however if you want to transport your car this can be done in this container also and put your three bedroom home in as well. The saving by putting your car in the container can be significant depending on the destination distance.

Container shipping for transporting your vehicle provides the safest means of transportation to your overseas destination. Your vehicle is loaded into the shipping container. Once your vehicle has been loaded into the shipping container, wooden braces are placed around each of the tires. Nylon straps are then used to tie your vehicle down and they are secured to the walls of the shipping container.

Container Packing Tips

Here are a few helpful tips when preparing to pack your household/personal possessions. ACR Australia is always available to offer additional packing assistance. Just email us or call us with your questions or concerns.

  • Personal items should be wrapped and packed into strong cardboard moving boxes. Reinforce the bottom of all boxes with plenty of tape. Fill each box to its capacity, using fillers to fill any empty spaces. Use original shipping boxes for computers, printers and other electronic items when possible.
  • Larger personal items such as furniture, etc., should be blanket wrapped and/or wrapped in plastic.
  • All appliances should be clean and dry. Immobilize moving parts and remove all detachable cords and wires. Tape electrical cords to the appliance and tape all doors and lids closed.
  • Drain all gasoline and oil from lawn mowers, chain saws and other equipment.
  • Disconnect all batteries.
  • Disconnect propane gas bottles (these cannot be shipped).
  • Strap long garden tools together. (for Western Australian Customs all garden tools must be steam cleaned)
  • Number your boxes and label with your name, address and telephone number.
  • Your personal possessions should not include anything that is poisonous, flammable, corrosive, perishable, fuels, cleaning chemicals, insecticides, drugs, firearms or ammunition animals, original documents (birth certificates, will, etc.) original videos (wedding, etc.).

Supplies for packing

Furniture which is shipped in an exclusive full container should be protected with a soft wrap padding which can be purchased from storage supply stores, supply stores can also provide you with the various boxes and packing supplies needed to pack & label your personal belongings.
